Calvary Presbyterian Church was founded in 1910.  By 1921, it had moved to its present location at the corner of Virginia and Milvia Streets.  The first church at this location was a shingled structure designed by Julia Morgan.  In 1950, a new church designed by Scott Haymond of Berkeley was built.  The new stucco building was occupied on Good Friday, 1951 with Herman F. Allen, D. D. as Pastor.  At that time, the old church became the activities center.

In 1958, Carl Huneke of Century Stained Glass Studio in San Francisco created and installed the stained glass windows.  The Pastor was Paul S. Mellish, D.D.  Many members whose names are listed in the Memorial Books contributed windows.

In 1994, the Julia Morgan building was lost in an arson caused fire.  A new, larger activities center, designed by Todd Jersey, San Francisco, was built and occupied in the summer of 1997.
